Where is your bakery based?

We are based in the historic sports town of Rugby in the West Midlands.

What's your best toastie/sandwich/etc-making bread?

For a square slice designed for the toaster, our sandwich loaf is the one, it’s baked in a square-lidded tin so the end result is square.

Why doesn't your bread fit in my toaster?

See above.

Are your products suitable for vegetarians/vegans?

Our vegan cakes are a vegan mix, we do use dairy products in many of our other products.

How should I store my Dwyers product?

To retain the freshness of our products store them in a cool dry place.

Is bread best stored in the fridge?

No. Cool and dry, not cold and damp. Fridges are not a good place to store dough products.

Can I freeze your products?

Yes, all of our products freeze well and freezing suspends the life which retains the freshness.

Why does Dwyers use palm oil?

We use an extremely good roll concentrate for added softness and improved life, at the moment this does contain palm oil, however it is from sustainable sources and our suppliers are actively seeking alternatives.

Why does Dwyers use soya?

Soya improves the handling of dough, and gives the bread better volume and crumb softness. Soya has been used as a normal ingredient in plant-produced bread for over fifty years and is permitted under the Bread and Flour Regulations.

Why do you need salt in bread?

Salt tightens the gluten structure and adds strength to the dough also gas that is formed during fermentation is supported by salt which adds volume to the loaf. The major reason is simply the taste, bread without salt is insipid and very bland with an aftertaste.

Do you bake gluten free products?

No, we outsource the gluten free products to one of partners, gluten is airborne which increases cross contamination across a bakery. We are aware of the gluten market and we wouldn’t say never . . .

Is your packaging recyclable?

Yes, our boxes are recyclable card and the polythene is too, do check with your local council for recycling details.
